Walls of My Heart
All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them. — Walt Disney
I am sure most of the people are familiar with Disney and all its princesses’ stories. I’ve been a fan of Disney since childhood and all those glittering colorful scenes, starry nights, backgrounds full of hearts and butterflies, inspired me to paint my room and make it look alike. I managed to make it as cheery, bubbly, and brightening as possible.

This was mere an ordinary wall painting before I joined Amal Academy, which has now become, for the rest of my life, a constant reminder to the love and learning I’ve achieved through the fellowship.
During the selection process of the Amal Career Prep Fellowship Program, shortlisted candidates were supposed to go through an online Activity Center (step 3) in order to reach the next step and the moment I joined the zoom meeting and turned on my camera, the host greeted me with a compliment:
“Hello Iqra, Hope you’re doing fine. Loving your background wall! ”
A week later, we had the orientation session of selected candidates with two of the Amal Academy’s facilitators Ma’am Naveera & Ma’am Naqsh, and surprisingly I got the same compliment. Upon telling that I painted it myself, they asked me to show the whole wall and while I was moving my laptop and showcasing, they cherished me with their warm compliments ❤

We are at the last week of our fellowship right now and throughout these 3 months, I’ve learned a great deal of knowledge but what has now made my room special and filled it with love and positivity, are those appreciation words and memories I’ve gathered throughout this fellowship.
For the 1st project work, we were given the task to revisit Amal Values and make a display item out of it. Taking this project as an opportunity to utilize my creativity and beautify my room yet again, I designed a wall decoration displaying all values that Amal Academy has taught us.

“If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way “ — Napoleon Hill
During our initial 2 weeks, we had these online courses to explore yourself and devise your SMART Goals. While I was working on these, I reflected on my passion for arts and creativity, which was kinda lost in my busy professional life. Both of these courses, coupled with the appreciation and motivation I’ve got from Amal Academy, pushed me to rediscover and restore that lost passion of mine. I devised my goals and set targets to get more of what I love and enjoy — got myself enrolled in some art courses, workshops and started doing arts, with a long term goal to pursue an Arts Business. This makes me recall an inspirational quote from Tony Robbins:
“The only impossible journey is the one you never begin”
To conclude, my journey with Amal Academy is about to end but what's never gonna end is all those positive vibes, I have converged in my room and all those encouragements, I have accumulated in my heart throughout this fellowship.
